I am an associate professor of science communication and public engagement with science at Stellenbosch University in South Africa where I have pioneered teaching, training and research in the field. I’m responsible for an extensive teaching and research portfolio, including the supervision of several master’s and PhD students. I participate in a number of international projects, including the EU-funded Eco2Wine Project, as well as the ‘Just Transitions for AMR’ global convening funded by The British Academy. I am the deputy editor of the Journal of Science Communication (JCOM) and an honorary life-time member of the global PCST (Public Communication of Science and Technology) Network.
