I started as a part-time lecturer in February 2005 and was appointed as a full-time lecturer in April 2006.

I am passionate about teaching, learning and assessment, as well as transformation.

From 2015 to 2022 I was the senior project manager for the Stellenbosch Thuthuka program. During my time as Thuthuka project manager, and thereafter, I have made a significant contribution to transformation in the accountancy profession and have been involved in the initiation several of the School’s support programmes for at risk students (including Thuthuka, ILP, Structured tutorials, Summer and Winter Schools, etc).

I serve in various committees at School, Faculty as well as Institutional level, and volunteer to present at the Teacher's Enrichment Programme.

I am the module coordinator for Financial Accounting 178, the coordinator for the open day, the coordinator for the conversion and the module coordinator for Portfolio of Evidence 378. I am also the co-program leader for the BAcc undergraduate program.

I was awarded a SU Teaching Fellowship from 2025- 2027. I am planning to use this opportunity for renewal of the Financial Accounting 178 module, aiming to incorporate the CA of the Future competencies, and to help ease the transition from school to University for first year BAcc and BAccLLB students.
