OVERVIEW

Boikanyo Motloba is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Earth Sciences at Stellenbosch University, working within the ARM Chair in Geometallurgy. Her research focuses on process mineralogy and ore characterisation, particularly the influence of mineralogy, mineral associations, textures and liberation characteristics on ore processing behaviour and metallurgical performance.

Her research applies mineralogical characterisation to understand ore variability and its implications for mineral processing and geometallurgy. A significant component of her current work focuses on the application of hyperspectral imaging (HSI) in geometallurgy, particularly its use for rapid mineral characterisation, mapping mineralogical variability, and supporting geometallurgical domaining and the integration of mineralogical information across the mining value chain.

She contributes to postgraduate supervision, teaching and professional training in process mineralogy and geometallurgy.
