A physiotherapist by training, I specialized in rehabilitation service provision, research and teaching. I achieved my Masters in 1999 and my PhD in 2015. Both focusing on disability and rehabilitation. 

I am passionate about teaching and learning and the development of human potential that goes with that. I have succesfully supervised 3 PhD and 50 masters students. 

I bring a social justice ethos to my work and believe in engaging with persons with disabilities and learning from them. I am also enthusiastic about the inclusion of persons with disabilities in communities and societies. 

I have practical, teaching, and supervision experience in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed method research methodologies, including social justice and transformative methodologies like co-operative inquiry. I try to keep abreast of development in research methods.
