My teaching philosophy centres on engaging students with real-world applications of economic history, fostering an interactive and immersive learning experience. He pioneered two unique courses, Economics 281 and Economic History 771, aimed at broadening students' perspectives on global and African economic history. For Economics 281, I authored the textbook Our Long Walk to Economic Freedom, using it to explore economic history themes through an African lens and promote a decolonised approach to the curriculum.

My graduate course, Economic History 771, uses a participatory format where students present and critique research papers, creating an intensive, collaborative learning environment.
