Willem Boshoff is Professor of Economics and Co-Director of the Centre for Competition Law and Economics at Stellenbosch University. He is an internationally recognised expert in competition policy and has published on various aspects of competition, competition policy and macro-economic issues in leading journals. Currently, Prof Boshoff is a Fellow of Economic Research Southern Africa, responsible for advancing competition policy research and teaching in South Africa. In 2023/24, Professor Boshoff held the Vloeberghs Chair at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium, based on his work on digital competition policy. He is active in policy, acting as expert in competition cases and in advising national and provincial governments on regulatory and competition policy matters. Prof Boshoff holds a PhD from Stellenbosch and an MSc from Oxford University.
