OVERVIEW

I am a higher education leader, researcher and leadership coach whose work sits at the intersection of organisational leadership, leadership coaching, experiential learning and institutional change.

My research interests focus on how people exercise leadership within complex organisations, particularly in higher education, and how identity, role, power, relationships and organisational structures shape leadership practice. I am interested in leadership development that moves beyond individual capability to examine the wider organisational and social conditions within which people lead and make decisions.

My work in leadership coaching explores reflective and developmental approaches that support leaders to understand their experience, strengthen self-awareness, reconnect with values and purpose, and translate insight into purposeful action. I have a particular interest in coaching professionals who are working through role transitions, organisational complexity, competing expectations and change.

A further strand of my research examines experiential and transformative learning, including the design, recognition and evaluation of learning that takes place through experience, reflection and engagement with real organisational and societal challenges. This includes questions of graduate development, democratic learning, social justice and lifelong learning.
