OVERVIEW
Prof Karen Welman is a biokineticist (clinical exercise therapist), educator, researcher and specialist in movement neuroscience, an interdisciplinary field that investigates the neural mechanisms underlying human movement. Her work draws on principles from neuroscience, motor control, and biomechanics to explore how the brain and nervous system plan, execute, and adapt motor skills. With a focus that spans from basic neural processes to the complexities of movement across the human lifespan, she is dedicated to advancing understanding of how we learn, refine, and recover movement through life.
