OVERVIEW
Sports and Exercise Medicine is my passion and I desire to make it accessible to both recreational and elite athletes. I am committed to providing an integrated approach to medicine and science and highly value the principles of ethics and evidence-based medicine.
I am a clinician with a focus of sports and exercise medicine at Campus Health Service (CHS) since 2010. I serve on the executive of the South African Sports Medicine Association and on the Therapeutic Use Exemption Committee of the South African Institute for Drug Free Sport.
I am a part time academic at the Insitute of Sport and Exercise Medicine (ISEM) and a consultant in Sports Medicine at Tygerberg Academic Hospital and a consultant for Sports Concussion South Africa. I hold a certificate in travel medicine.
CHS has a collaboration with KU Leuven where we host a medical doctor specialising in rehabilitation medicine at Leuven for a three month sports medicine fellowship. I provide clinical supervision and co-author clinical case reports.
I love to run, explore, travel and read. I have published a fiction novel under my married surname.
