George Nel is an Associate Professor in the School of Accountancy at Stellenbosch University, where he also serves as the Deputy Director of Research, Divisional Head of the Financial Accounting (BCom) division, and Head of the Centre for Corporate Governance in Africa.  He is an Associate Editor at the South African Journal of Economic and Management Sciences, Past-president at the Southern African Accounting Association. (SAAA) and International Association for Accounting Education & Research (IAAER) executive committee member.
