OVERVIEW
I am a Biostatistician and Associate Professor of Biostatistics at Stellenbosch University’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, within the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Originally trained as a biological scientist, I discovered a passion for epidemiology and biostatistics and went on to obtain a MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. I am currently registered for a PhD in Biostatistics at Stellenbosch University.
I have 21 years’ experience in biostatistical consulting and collaboration, covering planning, conducting, and analysing epidemiological research spanning a wide variety of medical conditions and study designs. Since joining the Division as a Biostatistician in 2011, I have actively contributed my expertise in the areas of research, teaching, postgraduate supervision, and biostatistics collaboration. I am serving my fifth year as a member of the Health Research Ethics Committee and am an elected member of the International Statistics Institute.
