OVERVIEW

Francois' work as a PhD candidate and Postdoctoral Fellow at Stellenbosch University focuses on decarbonising thermal energy systems.  Francois has developed a framework for the adoption of renewable energy by industry, which he is taking forward with applied research by seeking to introduce new technological solutions into industrial settings. His first article on a long-term forecasting approach for renewable and sustainable energy technologies was published in the Energies journal as a feature paper (https://doi.org/10.3390/en16196874). A second article presenting the core of his research has also been published in Energies (https://doi.org/10.3390/en18133241). Other journal articles and conference proceedings provide insights into the costs and benefits of sustainable energy systems under specific settings and boundary conditions.
