I am a virological scientist who started professional life as a general medical laboratory scientist. I am based in the Division of Medical Virology at Stellenbosch University Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences since April 2010. I completed my basic and undergraduate education in Zimbabwe, my country of origin.  I hold a PhD in Medical Virology from Stellenbosch University in South Africa (2016). I have previously worked in pathology and clinical research laboratories in Zimbabwe and eSwatini (Swaziland). Since February 2023, I am joint-appointed in the National Health Laboratory Service and Stellenbosch University as a medical scientist and researcher. My work interphases basic and clinical research.
